About Pasir Putih
On the weekend, divers from Surabaya take two hours drive to the eastern part of Java, to Pasir Putih. It’s an ideal location for anyone visiting Surabaya, the second largest city in Indonesia, to spend underwater time during weekend or after business trip. The dive site is located on the whale sharks’ migration route, makes it the main attraction of the area. Those giants of the sea usually stay for a few days in the area before they continue their migrating journey. Whale shark can be seen from the boat or go snorkeling for a closer encounter.
Diving is relatively easy as the dive sites can be easily reached by boat and located not too far from the shoreline. Unique creatures such as goby, nudi branch, flatworm, and other unique nocturnal fish can be seen on a night dive. Visit coral farms and see the conservation efforts have been done in the area. Coral reefs has covered the concrete blocks installed in the site and has became the gathering venue for plethora of fishes.
